A celebration of life service for Mrs. Kimberly Goodwin McFarland, 60, of Springdale, Ark., will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Fellowship Bible Church in Lowell with Pastor Mickey Rapier officiating. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Westfield Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Kimberly Frances Goodwin McFarland was born April 2, 1961, in Texarkana, AR to Benjamin Laird and Althea Lee Curley Goodwin. She was raised and schooled in Shreveport, La., graduating from Huntington High School with the class of 1979. She furthered her education at LA Tech University graduating in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in special education. Later she graduated with her Masters degree from Cumberland Valley University. Kim taught school for over 33 years in Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Kentucky, retiring from Springdale Public Schools in 2018, where she taught at Harbor High School for over 14 years. Kim married Michael Wayne "Mac" McFarland on January 5, 2015, and together they celebrated over six years of marriage. She attended Fellowship Bible Church and was a member of P.E..O, Chapter BI, and Bible Babes. She spent her time volunteering with Highlands Oncology Group. In her spare time, Kim enjoyed traveling and going to all things Razorback sports, but mostly she loved to spend time with friends, family and her children and grandchildren. Kim was preceded in death by her grandparents and father. She is survived by her mother, Althea Goodwin of Shreveport, La.; loving husband, Mac McFarland of Springdale; son, Vince Biondo and Michelle Hufana of Bentonville; daughter, Kathryn Bell and husband, Chad Rogers; grandchildren, Theo and Bryce Bell of Rogers; brothers, Chris Goodwin and wife Carolyn of Benton, La., and Clay Goodwin of Bossier City, La.; sister, Karen Shamburger and husband. Carlton, of Carthage, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends. Memorial donations may be made to Arkansas Ovarian Cancer Coalition or Highlands Ocology.
