Fred J. Derwin IV, 77, of Winslow, passed away peacefully on 7/11/21. Fred had numerous accomplishments and adventures during his life. He graduated #1 in his class from U of A Fay Jones School of Architecture in 1978, and proceeded to apprentice with Fay Jones, where he worked on the original drafts of the Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs. He later started his own business, during which he designed and built several custom homes in the greater Fayetteville Area. And his greatest adventure of all was the solo six-month horseback trip through the Sierra Mountains. He settled in Winslow in 1991, where he became well known as a master woodworker, crafting his signature Arkansas cutting boards, toys and furniture. He took pride in giving back to his community and was known for donating his hand-crafted treasures to multiple charities. Fred is survived by his three children: Samantha, Rebecca and Joe; Goddaughter, Stephanie; their spouses; and 11 grandchildren. There will be a Celebration of his life on Sunday, 7/25/21 @ 2 p.m. at his beloved home: 13125 Devils Den Road, Winslow, Ark. Online condolences www.WestfieldChapel.com
