Oren Johnny Pierson

Oren Johnny Pierson, 91, of Bella Vista, Ark., went to be with Jesus, February 22, 2021. O.J. was born in Clifton, Texas, on December 15th, 1929, to O.J. Pierson Sr. and Johnnie (Metcalf) Pierson. After growing up in Clifton, Texas, O.J. moved to Lubbock, Texas, where he joined the United States Army at the early age of 17 and was soon stationed in Korea. O.J. and Charlie (Ramsey) were married December 22, 1949, in Seminole, Texas, and spent 71 beautiful years lucky in love. O.J. devoted his life to the church working as a minister of music, serving churches across Oklahoma, N. M. and finally Arkansas, where he retired in 1990. O.J. was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who spent his life investing in the lives of others. To know O.J. was to love him, he was a light in the lives of all who knew him. O.J. is survived by his wife, Charlie Maude Pierson of Bella Vista, Ark.; his children, Rebecca Powell of Bella Vista, Ark., Julie Turner of Bella Vista, Ark., Angela and (Michael) Toney of Springdale, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Gayle Pierson of Coffeyville, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. O.J. was preceded in death by his son, Charles Jay Pierson. A small family graveside service will be held to celebrate his life at a later date.
