Mary Elizabeth Ogden, age 100, of Butterfield Trail Village in Fayetteville, Ark, passed away Friday, November 20. She was born May 10, 1920 in Long Beach, Calif. to George and Ruth Waldvogel LaFrance. Mary attended Long Beach Community College and then Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey where she graduated in 1942. In 1943 she married Glenn Blanchard Ogden. Mary directed adult and youth choirs for 30 years, was a paraprofessional with learning disabled children for 10 years in the Omaha, Neb. public schools, was a hospital volunteer and, as minister's wife, was involved in numerous church activities. Gardening, feeding and watching the birds in her yard gave her much joy. Mary leaves a legacy of music, love for her extended family and a smile wherever she went. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ruth Moore and Naomi Wirt, and her husband of 47 years. She is survived by her children Glenn Ogden (Lynne) of North Carolina; Marty McCullough (John) of Oregon; Ruthie Sampier of Arkansas; Bruce Ogden (Jill) of Maryland; grandchildren Rob Sampier, Erin Sampier Windholz, Courtney Sampier Brown, Anne McCullough Kelly, Ian, Kevin, Colin and Lauren McCullough and nine great grandchildren.
