Donald Duane Amos, 67, passed away July 1, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo. Donald was born December 18, 1952, in Shelbyville, Ind., to Bonnie Joyce and Samuel Perry Amos. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Ashlyn Bradshaw. Donald was graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1971 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1975. Don loved NASCAR and Indy racing and spent many hours at the Indianapolis Speedway. He also loved history, traveling, and chatting with his friends in his workshop. Don was Past Master of Bentonville Masonic Lodge and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite. He also was a very proud Eagle Scout. Don married Julianne Crofoot April 29, 2000. She survives. Other survivors include daughter, Lindsay Nicole Amos of Siloam Springs; brother, Anthony Amos and wife Stephanie of Indianapolis; sister, Vicki Mann and husband Brian of Holt, Mich.; step-son, Nicholas Crofoot and wife Angela Hong of Prairie Village, Kan.; and grandchildren Nixon Davis, Isabel Crofoot, Stephen Crofoot, and Emily Petit. A visitation for Don will be held July 14 at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services, 2898 West Walnut Street, Rogers, Ark., 5-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Benton County or to an organization of choice.
