Julia "Jackie" Sizemore

Julia "Jackie" Sizemore, 89, of Springdale, died Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville. She was born February 1, 1930 in the War Eagle community to Jack and Ruby Gibson Coger. Jackie was educated in a one-room schoolhouse for eight years, four of those being taught by her aunt. She graduated from Springdale High School third in her class of 80 students. Jackie then returned to her childhood home where she taught at the same one-room schoolhouse for the final two years it was open. She married David Sizemore on February 16, 1951. He preceded her in death on November 26 of this year. She is survived by two sons, Mike Sizemore and wife Susan of Nashville, Tennessee, Galen Sizemore and wife Robyn of Springdale; one brother, Lloyd Coger; and three grandchildren, Adam Sizemore, Micah Davis and husband Ethan, and Kaley Gochi and husband Romeo. Jackie was also preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Decker Sizemore. Visitation will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 4, at Heritage Funeral Home, online guestbook and obituary at www.heritageofnwa.com. A private family service will follow.
