Marcella Ruth Smith

Marcella Ruth Smith, 95, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at her home. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 24, 1925 to the late Charles and Alma Immel. She was married to Robert V. Smith for 43 years before his death in 1994. In addition to her parents and husband, Marcella is preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Smith, one sister, and five brothers. Marcella moved to Rogers in 1958 from Michigan when her husband was transferred with Daisy Air Rifle. She took a job with Emerson Electric from where she retired after over seventeen years. Marcella and Robert started the Sunshine School in the early 1960s and were active Bowlers. Marcella was a charter member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, with whom she loved traveling and doing bus tours. She was also active in the American Legion Women's Auxillary and the VFW. Those left to cherish Marcella's memory include: son, David L. Smith (Brenda), grandsons, Jacob L. Smith (Natalie) and Robert Jordan Smith, one cousin, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Rogers City Cemetery, Rogers, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Conway Human Development Center, Conway, Arkansas or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Rogers, Arkansas.
