Lois Jean Brown, age 89, of Lowell passed away Friday, August 14, 2020, peacefully in her home. She was born August 1, 1931, at Brush Creek, Arkansas, to Homer Asa Garrett and Winnie Agnes Wight Garrett. The family moved to Lowell where "Jean" was a 1948 Graduate of Rogers High School. Jean and Bobby Joe Brown were married April 29, 1950 and started their family, two children John Stephen and Billy Joe. Jean spent many years on the family dairy farm helping milk cattle, haul hay, and serving her family, friends, and the community. As an active long time member at Spring Creek Baptist Church, she was known for driving local children to Vacation Bible School each summer. Here, she loved to serve in the kitchen. Her own kitchen was always open, and she was frequently found with a spoon in her hand stirring up a new batch of cookies or a birthday cake for anyone she could think of. An avid Razorback fan, she knew a great deal about basketball, and as a surprise to most, she kept up with the sport at all levels enjoying March Madness and NBA playoffs. Jean also enjoyed music, including singing and piano, and loved attending the piano recitals of her son and grandchildren. If she was missing from her farm or kitchen, she could most certainly be found on the front row cheering on her grandchildren and, more recently, her great-grandchildren, at their baseball games, basketball games, and everything else they signed up for. She was a hard worker born with a servant's heart that she focused on the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Brown; her son, Bill Brown; her parents, Asa and Agnes Garrett; and four siblings, Mary Margaret, John, Doris Ann, and Carl. Survivors include her son, Steve Brown and wife, Martha, of Lowell; grandson, Allen Brown of Colorado; granddaughter, Sarah Easterling and husband Andrew of Rogers; and three great-grandchildren, Atticus, Beckett, and Ezra Kate Easterling of Rogers. Jean also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as countless friends and community members. An outdoor visitation will be held prior to the service at Spring Creek Cemetery on August 17th at 1 p.m. The graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spring Creek Baptist Church at 8762 Wagon Wheel Rd., Springdale, AR 72762.
