Wendell James Easterling

Wendell James Easterling, 80, of Hindsville, went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2019. Wendell was born November 30, 1938 in Huntsville, Arkansas. He was the son of Reverend Noel and Hazel Easterling. After graduating from Huntsville High School, he moved to Springdale and drove a truck for Willis Shaw. He then worked as a builder building homes and rental property. Later he managed his rental property and a cattle farm. Wendell was a member of Heritage Friendship in Nob Hill, Arkansas. He loved the Lord and sharing his faith with others. He enjoyed tennis, gardening, restoring cars, and farming, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Wendell is preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, Ruby and Burrell Harwood and his wife of 53 years, Cheryl Easterling, who he married on November 22, 1963. Wendell is survived by his son John Easterling; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Sean and Lynn Ryan and Travis and Brooke Luker and eight grandchildren: Adam Ryan, Andrew Ryan, Joshua Ryan, Benjamin Easterling, Paige Easterling, Jacob Ryan, Henry Luker, and Blake Easterling. He is survived by two sisters, Glynna Boone and her husband Jack, and Carolyn Wright and her husband Ronald and one sister-in-law, Donna Dennis and her husband Ronald. The visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, 1000 N. Gutensohn Road, Springdale, Arkansas. A celebration of Wendell's life will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, Springdale with Reverend Jim Spurlock and Reverend Clark Snow officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Easterling, Blake Easterling, Henry Luker, Travis Luker, Adam Ryan, Andrew Ryan, Jacob Ryan, Joshua Ryan, and Sean Ryan.
