Donald Franklin "Papa Don" Hansen

Donald Franklin "Papa Don" Hansen passed away on June 23, 2019. He was born on July 13, 1939 in Imperial Valley, California to the late Harry and Eva Hansen. Don was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for 33 years at TWA, where he inspected airliners at the TWA Overhaul Base in Kansas City, Missouri. When he retired, he had earned the title of Lead Inspector and had received awards for his work. He was a longtime member of Bentonville Community Church of the Nazarene. His survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Helen Hansen; children, Michele Parks and husband Cliff of Bella Vista, Donald Hansen and wife Heather of North Carolina; grandchildren, Garrett Parks, Erin Moore, Travis Parks, Cole Hansen, Alexa Hansen; great-grandchildren, Parker and Calvin Moore; brothers, Wain, James, and Paul Hansen; and a sister, Mart Hodgnett. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, John and Carrol Hansen. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Bentonville Community Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Fayetteville.
