Ralph Steven Mathey

After a protracted battle with cancer, Ralph Steven Mathey, age 71, died on June 6, 2019, at his home in Bella Vista, Ark. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Vivian Mathey; son, Brian Mathey and spouse Erin Cenefelt; daughter, Anne Mathey; sister, Dyan Dunsworth, nee Mathey; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph was born on April 7, 1948 in Kansas City, Mo., to Roy and Amanda Mathey, who predeceased him. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School and Kansas State Teachers College. Self-employed at his jewelry company, Genuine Article, Ralph also founded the H.E.A.R. The Cry Foundation, an educational non profit in Haiti which has helped over 1000 children receive an education.
