Mary Louella Peterson, 98, was born August 2, 1921 in Burnt Cabins, Pa., to Martha (Horton) and Lloyd Cornelius. She was the oldest of twelve and the widow of Donald Elwyn Peterson who died in 1980. "Nana" died August 16 at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. She is survived by one son, Don Peterson and his wife, Marilyn Kay, her granddaughter, Kimberly Kay Jarboe (Jon) and two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Bode Weller all of Fayetteville. Other treasured family members are four sisters: Jean Reynolds of Oviedo, Fla., Marion Seiders of McConnellsburg, Pa., Kathleen Lewis of Carrollton, Texas and Nancy Hockman of Hagerstown, Md. and one brother, Ned Cornelius of Bethel, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters: Pauline Waters, Betty Kromer and June Cornelius and three brothers: Dale, Robert and Luther Cornelius. Nana loved her family and was the happiest preparing bountiful meals for their visits. Her delicious delicacies will be missed by all who enjoyed them. She was a very proud lady and took great pleasure creating beauty in her home and garden. Mary was quite an athlete. She was the ladies golf club champion multiple times at Rolling Hills Country Club in Wichita, Kan. A memorial service will be held at a future date in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania at Union Cemetery.
