Mary Janet Lyon Reberry

On Sept. 2, 2018 Mary Janet Lyon Reberry of Bella Vista, Ark., passed peacefully with her daughter and longtime caregiver present. She was 99, one month shy of her eagerly anticipated 100th birthday. Mary was born and raised in Jefferson, Iowa and attended Jefferson High School. She participated in school activities including the Drama Club where she met her future husband, Gerald V. Reberry. They married in 1940 and a few years later World War II called many young men to serve including her husband. At the end of WWII, Mary and her two older children, Kay and David, were among the first dependents sent to Europe, an arrival that was met by many General Officers as well as anxious husbands and fathers. Mary is survived by her daughter, Martha Kay (Warren) Smith; sons, David (Marita) Reberry and Robert Reberry; six grandchildren, Warren, Mary and Kathleen Smith, Theresa Renfro, Jeffrey and Andrew Reberry; nine great-grandchildren including Dominic, Nicholas and Katie Smith, Daniel Grey-Cloud, Jessica Hernandez, Cody Renfro, Whitney, Dylan and Scarlett Reberry, and one great-great-grandson, Kyler Hernandez. Services are scheduled Sept. 22nd at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. Arrangements are provided by Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.
