Virginia Blair Melton, 87 of Springdale passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville. She was born August 5, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Cecil Clyde and Gussie Martin Blair. Virginia was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Club. She loved the Senior Center. Her husband was in the United States Air Force traveling to many places. He retired in 1970 and they moved back to the Springdale area. She enjoyed tattering and preserving foods. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Clifford Melton, her parents, her siblings, Cecil Blair, Mary Saunders, Franklin Blair, John Blair, her son-in-law, Dr. Carlos Pagés, two grandsons, Christopher Wesley Melton and Robert (Bobby) Melton. Survivors include two sons, C. Wes Melton and wife Christina of Fort Smith and Dr. William Melton and wife Lucy of Gravette; one daughter, Dr. Joyce Melton Pagés; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Marcus Melton, Mariana Angelica Pagés, Nick Thomas Melton and wife Erin Gale and Daniel Anthony Pagés; one great-granddaughter, Liliana Marie Mandujano. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 13, 2018 at 2pm at Sisco Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.
