Teddy Faye Downum

Teddy Faye Downum, 75, of Elm Springs, Arkansas, died September 3, 2018, at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born September 9, 1942, in Elm Springs, Arkansas. He was the son of George Olen Downum and Mary Alene Burnett Downum. Teddy and LaDena Mitchell were married on May 8, 2010. He was a barber and owned Ted's Barber Shop in Elm Springs for over 42 years. He was a member of Elm Springs United Methodist Church, Ozark Cattlemen's Association and was a Mason. Teddy loved fishing, woodworking, gardening, working with cattle, telling stories and was quite a jokester. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Naomi. Survivors include his wife, LaDena of the home; children, Sarah Freitag and husband Scott of Eagle Rock, Missouri; Joe Downum and wife Kimberly of Elm Springs, Arkansas and Andy Downum and wife Maverin of Elm Springs, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Rhiannon Miller, Westyn Miller, Brayden Downum, Kayleigh Jo Downum, Chase Downum and Jack Downum; brothers Gene Downum and wife Joanna of Porterville, California, Gary Downum and wife Linda of Elm Springs, Arkansas and Donald Downum of Elm Springs, Arkansas. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2018, at Elm Springs United Methodist Church, Elm Springs, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Elm Springs Cemetery.
