Doris Pauline Neely

Doris Pauline Neely, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior, October 8, 2018, surrounded by her children. Doris was born December 12, 1935, in Borger, Texas to parents, Clyde Warren Russell and Addie Catharine Ricketts Russell. She was raised in Hereford, Texas. Her father was a farmer, and she loved her life on the family farm, which was lovingly referred to as The Ponderosa or The Old Home Place. Doris graduated high school from Hereford High School in 1954. In 1955, she attended Draughn's Business School in Amarillo, Texas. From the time she finished business school, she worked in various clerical positions, until she retired from Tyson Foods at the age of 80. In 1956, she married Joe Neely, and they had four children. She loved her family very much. She was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She never forgot a birthday. It was important to her that every family member knew she was thinking of them and how much she loved them. Even when she became very ill and weak, she continued to remember special days and made sure her family all knew she was thinking of them. Doris loved to bake. She would bake all kinds of sweet treats and take them to work to share with her coworkers. When she became ill and could no longer bake, she would make sure she had chocolates, caramels, reece's pieces, and all kinds of goodies on hand to share with those caring for her. She loved children. She would always comment that seeing a child hurting or suffering in any way was more than she could bear. She made the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter one of her favorite charities. She also loved animals; all kinds of animals. Her favorite, though, was her Australian Shepherd named Patches. Her children would laugh and say she loved that dog more than she loved them. Doris was also a big football fan. Her favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and, sorry guys, the Texas Longhorns! She could talk the talk with the best of them, and she loved the opportunity to talk football with her boys. Her relationship with Jesus Christ was most important in her life. She shared her faith with all she knew and with all those so blessed to have their lives touched by hers, no matter how long or how short their visit. Doris is predeceased by her father, Clyde Warren Russell, her mother, Addie Catharine Russell, and her brother, Robert Warren Russell. She is survived by her sister, Linda Fitzgearld and her husband CD Fitzgearld of Dimmitt, Texas, her son Michael Neely and his wife Johnie Neely of Catoosa, Okla., her daughter, Melodye Ebeling of Lowell, Ark., her son, Kyle Neely and his wife Darla Neely of Rogers, Ark., her son Kane Neely of Alma, Ark., eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren with number twelve on the way, numerous other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter at 14100 Vaughn Rd., Bentonville, Ark. 72712, (479)795-2417, [email protected]. Arrangements by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, Rogers, Arkansas. Online guestbook: www.bentoncountymemorialpark.com.
