Richard Vance (R. V.) Warner died Sunday, October 7, 2018, in Warren, Arkansas He was born May 23, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late W R Warner and Cecilia Morin Warner. He received his education in the Warren Public School System, was a graduate of William and Mary College with a degree in Business Administration and from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. R.V. served in the U.S. Air Force. He joined Potlatch Corp in 1953 as a methods engineer. Was promoted Vice-President of the Southern Division and in 1979 was named Vice-President of Potlatch Corporation Wood Products Group with office based in San Francisco, California retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Little Rock branch of the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank Board of Directors where he served as Chairman of the Board in 1983. He was Chairman of the Board of Review of the American Lumber Standards, Washington, D. C. serving from 1990 to 2001. He was a Board Member of the National Forest Products Association and served on the executive committee. In 1959 he joined the board of the Southern Forest Products Association. He was named a Director of the American Forest Council in 1987; served as a Director and President of the Arkansas Forestry Association in 1983. In 1987 was a Director and served as Treasurer, Vice-President and president to the Associated Industries of Arkansas and the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce. He has been President of both the Prescott and Northwestern Railroad and the Warren Saline River Railroad; member of the University of Arkansas Forestry Advisory Committee. He was a member of First Presbyterian church, Warren Country Club and the Donald W Reynolds YMCA. A avid golfer and enjoyed training his bird dogs and deep sea fishing. Surviving is his wife of 38 years Betty Anne Hemphill Ederington Warner; one son, William Richard "Rick" Warner III and wife Phyllis, Warren, Ark.; daughter, Kathy Murphy, West Memphis, Ark.; two step-daughters, Lou Anne Anderson and husband District Judge Bruce, Warren, Ark. and Mary Lynn Richardson, Erie Colorado; grandchildren, Adam Warner, Warren, Arkansas, Patrick Murphy, Lantana, Florida, Celia McGilvay and husband Drew, Little Rock Ark, Jase Richardson, Denver, Colorado and Aaron Richardson, Erie, Colorado. great-grandchildren, Warner Ledbetter, Vance Warner and Murphy McGilvray .He was also preceded in death by a wife, Shirley Daugherty Warner; a sister, Jane Warner Atkins, a brother, WR Warner Jr., two grandchildren, Taylor Warner and Erin Warner Ledbetter. Graveside services 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, in Oakland Cemetery with Flag presentation ceremony. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.Tuesday, Oct. 9th at Frazer's.
