James Shannon McEvoy was born January 14, 1969 at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, California amidst the roar of overhead jet fighters and the flutter of Chinook and Huey attack helicopters. These factors apparently influenced his life as he was known for speed and toughness. A lifelong fight with juvenile diabetes mellitus ended his life prematurely on November 26, 2018. Jaime had a beautiful, big heart and loved his friends, family, hunting, and fishing. In high school he was a three year letterman as safety and wingback for the Springdale Bulldogs. He was a speedster in track and in the ninth grade was one of only three triple, league champions in the 100, 220, 440 yard dashes. He attended the U of A studying business and later made his living in residential and commercial construction. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lynnette, maternal grandparents, Carl and Betty Alver and his paternal grandparents Dr. F.A.McEvoy and Ida. He is survived by his father, Dr. F.E.McEvoy and Nannice Hornor; brothers: Steve McEvoy (wife Kellie); Marc McEvoy and Kayley Koziel; nephews: Jared McEvoy (wife Katie, daughter Charlotte), Shane McEvoy (fiancee Cynthia Pazmino), and Jason McEvoy. Funeral service will be at the Sisco Chapel on Saturday morning, December 1 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Arkansas Children's Northwest, 4093 W Sunset Ave., Ste. 102, Springdale, Ark. 72762.
