Wilferd Henry "Bill" Mack

Wilferd Henry "Bill" Mack, 90, of Fort Smith, Ark., left this earth peacefully on Nov. 21, 2018. He was born on May 28, 1928 in St. Louis, Mo., to Lenora and Irving Mack. He served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 until 1954 at Camp Lejeune in California and was transferred to the Marine Corps reserve until 1960. He has a certificate of recognition for his service during the Cold War. Bill was a lithographer by trade and worked in Missouri, Texas, Louisiana, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Arkansas. He was a plant manager for Universal Packaging in Fort Smith from 1969 until he retired in 1996. Bill loved hunting, fishing, and gardening and was a loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Bill is survived by his daughter, Jeane Mack of Fayetteville, Ark.; his granddaughter, Leslie Borengasser, her husband, Wes, and their two sons, Brody and Nicholas; his granddaughter, Amanda Curl, her husband, Randy, and their three children, TJ, Jason, and Miranda; his younger brother, Charles Mack and wife, Eileen; as well as nieces, a nephew, and their families, and a loving extended in-law family. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Emmalyn, and his eldest brother, Irving Mack of Florissant, Mo. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel from 5-6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, with Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic School, 223 South 14th St., Fort Smith, at the wishes of Bill, to support Catholic Education.
