Rebecca Jean Kennedy Byrd

Rebecca Jean Kennedy Byrd, age 47, of Springdale passed away in her sleep on November 20, 2018. Becky was born on April 25, 1971 in Springdale to Gene and Shirley Kennedy. Becky graduated SHS in 1989 and went to get her LPN then RN licenses. Being a candy striper began her love for nursing. During her career, she was a nurse at Springdale Memorial, UAMS and Baptist Health in Little Rock, Northwest Medical, Hillcrest and St Johns of Tulsa. She retired only due to health conditions. Becky was preceded in death by her brother Randy Simmons and sister-in-law Brenda Simmons. Becky is survived by her children Casey Graves of Springdale and Tia Phillips of Enid, Okla., her parents Wyman and Shirley Simmons, siblings Debbie (Barry) Phillips of Las Vegas, Nev., Diana Simmons of Springdale, Sarah (Tim) Gordon of Enid, Okla., Rick (Brenda) Simmons of Bella Vista, Everett (Cynthia) Simmons of Springdale, and Linda (James) Laughter of Hindsville, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Celebration of Becky's life will be on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Jones Center Room 260 from 12-4. This will be a drop in where we can reminisce our fondest memories. Cremation will be under the supervision of Westfield Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to help in the final expenses as Becky had no life insurance.
