Glenna Sue Price

Glenna Sue Price, 69, of Decatur passed away Nov. 20th in Rogers, Ark. She was born July 24, 1949 in Southwest City, Mo., to the late Glen and Wanda Carpenter. Growing up you would never find Glenna in a dress and hair bows playing with dolls. She would rather be in tennis shoes playing a game of football, swimming in the creek or playing tennis with her brother and cousins. Her most loved sport was softball that she played during high school and into her twenties. She married John Robert Price on Aug. 4, 1972. They raised two daughters and one son in Decatur, Ark. She was an active stay at home mom, coaching softball teams and was the leader of the Decatur 4-H Club for many years. Glenna valued nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was most happy anytime she could be in the kitchen cooking and directing a family meal. When she called you to dinner you better not delay. Glenna was a devoted mother who enjoyed camping and kayaking with family and friends. During the summer you could always find her camping on the White River and spending time with her closest friends the Bollinger's & Doubrava's. She was an avid sports fan who loved the Razorbacks and calling the Hogs. During the fall, Glenna had the remote in her hand switching between football games and bragging that the SEC was the best. When it came to March Madness she was always the first to have her bracket filled out for the family competition. She loved spring baseball and made the trip to Omaha a few times to root on the Hogs. In 1994, Glenna joined the Walmart/Sam's Club Family. During her 24 year employment, she won many awards and made many great friends. She swore she kept working because she loved her work family and she didn't want to retire and give them up. She is survived by husband John Price of 46 years; daughter Christon (Chris) MaGee; daughter Abbe Price; son John Michael Price; grand-daughters Allyson MaGee, Madison Price and Peyton Price; grandson Aiden MaGee; brother Joe (Karen) Carpenter; and numerous other family and friends. Arrangements by Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th St. Rogers, Ark. Visitation will be held Monday evening, Nov. 26 from 5-7 p.m. at Benton County Funeral Home. There will be a private family graveside service. Memorial Service will be held at Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 1120 N. Gentry Blvd., Gentry, Ark., on Tuesday Nov. 27 starting at 4 p.m.
