Janice Elaine Berry, 79, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born in Milan, Missouri and raised near Humphreys, Missouri, Janice was the daughter of Mike and Dorothy Downing. She told many entertaining stories about growing up on the family farm. he graduated from Humphreys High School in 1957 and attended Gard Business School in St. Joseph, Missouri. She worked for the University of Missouri in Columbia where she met and later married her husband Dr. Ivan Berry. As their family grew and Ivan's career developed, they moved to Kerrville, Texas; Bryan, Texas; Lincoln, Nebraska; and Fayetteville, Arkansas. Janice spent most of her working career as a legal secretary. She was active in the Ozark Literacy Council, the Daughters of Demeter, and the Q.U.I.L.T. Guild of NW Arkansas. Janice was a generous woman, and always willing to help where and when needed. She was a talented seamstress. Over the years, she crafted clothing, stuffed toys, dolls, and many quilts for her family and friends. In her retirement years, Janice was happiest when she was quilting, reading, watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball, or going on traveling adventures with her sister Joyce. She leaves three children, daughter, Elaine Berry and husband William Jaeger of Clay Center, Nebraska; son, Brian Berry of Lincoln, Nebraska; and daughter, Brenda and husband James Krajewski of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Nicholas Krajewski and wife Emily, Erica Krajewski, Robert Jaeger and wife Jaime; and great-granddaughter, Leah Jaeger. She is also survived by sister, Joyce Boswell; brother, Leon Downing and wife Nancy; sister-in-law, Karen Hargrave and husband James; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ivan. Visitation will be held from 1–2 0.0.pm, with funeral services following at 2 p.m., on Monday, November 26, 2018, at Moore's Chapel Funeral Home at 206 W. Center Street, Fayetteville, 72701.
