Stephen Bryant Campbell, 42, the beloved son of Patty Campbell, passed away on Nov. 18, 2018 in Rogers. He was born on Sept. 7, 1976 in Fayetteville, Ark. He lived in Rogers most of his life. Stephen was a member of the 1995 Rogers High School Class. He attended the University of Arkansas, where he studied business for 4 years. He loved to travel and canoe and found peace through meditation and calming music. Stephen lived with mental illness for the last part of his life, and did so with courage, dignity, humor and hope. He was an advocate for the mentally ill through the example of his courageous life. Stephen is survived by his mother, Patricia Jane (Peterson) Campbell of Rogers; his Uncle Robert (Patty) Peterson, Jr. of Virginia; his aunts, Roberta ter Kuile (Chris) of North Carolina, Nancy Rains of Florida, Lillie Downs (Ben) of Texas, Helen Downey of North Carolina, and Maggie Gignilliat (Matt) of Georgia; many cousins and friends; and his precious dog, Blue. He was preceded in death by his dog of 14 years, Greenlight. His mother wants to thank all the unknown individuals who tried to rescue Stephen at the accident scene. Although your names are unknown, your actions were heroic and give her comfort. A Celebration of Stephen's life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, 307 Elm St. in Rogers. A private burial will be later at the Bentonville City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home.
