Lon Wright Smith

Lon Wright Smith, 94, of Springdale passed away Sunday, November 18, at Shiloh Nursing and Rehab. Lon was born June 1, 1924 in Lowell, Arkansas to Carl and Lucile Smith. He was preceded in death by both parents, his older brother, Deward Smith and sisters, Agnes Ford and Theda Smith. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edna, daughter Joyce Stephens and son, Tim, two granddaughters, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter. Lon was a local jeweler having a store in Bentonville and Springdale. He worked for Test Jewelry in Springdale and Perry's Jewelry in Springdale and Fayetteville. He was a member of Cross Church in Springdale. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Pastor Rex Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Sonora Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. before the service. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the Rotary Club of Springdale for the elimination of polio around the world at Rotary Foundation, 14280 Collections Center Drive, Chicago, Ill. 60693.
