Martha Dowell

Martha Dowell of Rogers passed away on Nov. 15, 2018. She was born on May 24, 1933 in Miami, Okla., to the late Elmer and Virginia Gaines. Martha will be remembered as a friendly, lively woman who never met a stranger. With her circle of friends in northwest Arkansas, she helped found the local Junior Auxiliary in the 1960s, and she was involved in the Jaycees, Beta Sigma Phi, and The Birthday Club. She was a member of The Samaritan House church in Rogers. Her survivors include her children, Beth Holmes of Rogers, Sam Dowell of Springfield, Mo., and Kathryn Dowell of Rogers; grandchildren, Beau Reed and wife Jessica of Jonesboro, Kristyn Lawson and husband Levi of Rogers, and Nicole Dowell of San Diego, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Noah Reed and Kamryn and Ciera Lawson; and brothers, Jim Gaines and wife DeMaris of Miami, Okla., and Tom Gaines of Rogers. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, grand-dogs, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. All are invited to visit with the family from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Rollins Funeral Home.
