Armand Henri Engels, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away November 13th, 2018, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born September 9, 1934, in Uccle, Belgium to Edouard N. Engels and Florentine M. Vermote. After graduating from high school, he served in the Belgian Army from the age of 16 until his retirement in 1974. In 1970, Armand moved his family to Washington, DC to work at the Belgian Embassy as Military Attaché, Chief Warrant Officer. After his Army career he worked in Hospitality in Washington, DC., Arlington, Va., Fort Worth, Texas, and retired in Rogers, Ark. He was loved by all his patrons, and co-workers with his wonderful sense of humor, and his heavy Belgian accent. He enjoyed vacationing on the beach with his wife and family, watching all forms of auto racing, football and soccer. Armand is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marcelle Van Cutsem of Brussels, Belgium, and his five children, Michele Santi and husband Gary of Monte Vista, Colo.; Brigitte Reydams and husband Marc of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Philip Engels and wife, Lila of Bella Vista, Ark.; Claude Engels and wife, Elizabeth of Dworp, Belgium, and Nathalie Brunell and husband Mike, of Rogers, Ark. He is survived by his ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life, 1201 NE Legacy Pkwy, Bentonville, AR 72712.
