Mary Marvene Lawson

Mary Marvene Lawson passed from this life on November 12, 2018. She was born on May 11, 1926 in Garfield, Arkansas to Elmer Lee and Mollie Snoderly Brown. She was married to John Floyd Lawson, who preceded her in death on July 10, 2015. They were married on February 14, 1947. Marvene lived in Northwest Arkansas her entire life. She graduated from Rogers High School with the class of 1945. She was employed by the Murray Shoe Store, which later became Felts Family Shoes, for several years, beginning with her junior year in high school. Her favorite hobby was working with flowers in the garden. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rogers. Marvene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Onnell Brown, and her sister, Selestia Brown Hayes and husband Ray Hays. Her youngest son, Bobby Lawson, also preceded her in dead on October 24, 2018. She is survived by her son, Jerry Lee Lawson of Rogers; grandson, Bradley Phillip Lawson and wife Anne of Stillwater, Okla.; and great-grandchildren, Becca, Emma, and John Lawson. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, November 17 at the Olive Street First Baptist Church in Rogers. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., with burial following at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Garfield.
