George William Robbins

Mr. George William Robbins, 73, of Kingston, Ark., was born on July 20, 1945 to William Norton Robbins and Alice Mae Schdek Robbins in Tulsa, Okla. George passed away Nov. 1, 2018 in his home, from complications of Fragile X Tremor Ataxia Syndrome (FXTAS). George will be remembered by his wife of 52 years, Barbara (Bobbye) Guss Robbins; his children, Robin and Rick Horton, Bo Robert and April, and Randy and Shelly; his grandchildren, Hollye and Hunter, Skye and her Molly, Madyson, Racheal and Bo, and Wyatt and Kallen, all of northern Arkansas; his brother, Charles E. Robbins and Terry of Bradenton, Fla.; sister-in-law, Betty Robbins of Rogers; and nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Marilyn Smith of Hickory, N.C.; brother, Richard (Dick) Robbins of Rogers, Ark.; grandson, Robert Spencer Franklin of Fayetteville, Ark.; step-father, Dan DeLong of Bradenton, Fla.; and one step-sister of Michigan. George attended school in Bradenton, Fla., and joined the Air Force at 17 years old. He served one tour in Vietnam. George moved to Rogers and owned Robbins Auto Parts while serving on the Rogers Volunteer Fire Department. He decided to go full-time as firefighter and became a paramedic. George loved being with and helping people. After retiring from Rogers Fire Department, he continued work as a paramedic tech at St. Mary's Hospital (Mercy) and part-time at Madison County EMS. George was on the Kingston Volunteer Fire Department. As long as he could drive, he went to the medical calls. Visitation for Mr. Robbins will be 12-3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home. In May a "Potluck"-type dinner celebration of George's life will be at the home in Madison County; all friends and family are welcome to attend. All will remember that "Food was his favorite dish."
