Bernice Reed Salley

Services for Mrs. Bernice Reed Salley will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Dr. B. David Brooks and Dr. Cliff Stewart officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2018 in Rogers City Cemetery, Rogers, Arkansas. The family requests that visitation be observed Saturday at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Mrs. Salley, 88, of Alexandria passed from this life and into eternal life, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at her residence. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Bernice was known to her family and friends as nurturing, caring, and loving. She especially loved, not only her immediate family, but her entire extended family. She made a point to keep up to date on everyone and rarely if ever missed birthdays or special occasions. Her love language was service and it was expressed through her kitchen. It was almost impossible to leave her home without having something to eat. She also served others through her volunteer work at the Kingsville Baptist Church Truckers Ministry. Above all else, she served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Salley; parents, Ruby LaCroix and Albert Sidney Reed; brothers, Clinton Reed, Franklin Reed; sisters, Lou Hudson, Catheryne Merrill and Margaret Martin. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Randy Salley and wife Brenda, Doug Salley and wife Sheri, and daughter, Vickie Thompson; seven grandchildren, Charles Sulfstede, Allison Covington, Lisa Stone, Morgan Salley, Matthew Salley, Cody Salley and Colt Salley; six great-grandchildren.
