Argus Alvis Johnson, 82, of Bethel Heights passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Christus Dubius Hospital (Mercy Medical Center) in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He was born July 16, 1935 in Boston, Arkansas to Charles B. and Maggie Maier Johnson. Argus worked for National Home Center in Springdale. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lowell. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing softball with Temple Baptist Church in Springdale, high school baseball, and boxing. He was preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings, Rose Maxwell, Florence Carter, Eula Kidd, Mae Spears, Charles Johnson, Nadine Dennis, Rae Johnson, Udell Johnson, Carlos Johnson and Verlin Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Susie Johnson of the home; one son, Daryl Johnson and wife Tina of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Alvie Johnson and wife Margaret of Pettigrew, Arkansas; one sister, Nileen Drain and husband Dale of Springdale; three grandchildren, Blake Johnson, Aaren Johnson and Sydney Johnson all from Atlanta, Georgia. Funeral services will be Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Pastor Aaron Matthews and Pastor Ben Rowell officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Springdale. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
