Paul Jackson Tweedle

Paul Jackson Tweedle, 94, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in Springdale. He was born October 2, 1923, in Hollywood, Arkansas, to Burton and Birdie Jackson Tweedle. Paul served in the Navy during WWII and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Air Cross. He then attended the College of the Ozarks where he earned his pharmacist's degree. He and Janice, his wife of 54 years, owned College Avenue Pharmacy in Fayetteville for many years where they loved and were loved by all of their customers. He was a resident of The Maples for the past three years and was loved by the staff. They called him "Mr. Paul" and if he noticed someone was a having a bad day he would ask about their family and learn their children's names. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Lavone Tweedle, his second wife, Elisabeth Deane Tweedle, and grandson, Terry Thomas, and an infant son. Paul is survived by a son, Joe Charles Tweedle of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Sonja Taylor and husband Lonnie, James Thomas; six great-grandchildren, Kendra Washington and husband Clay, Kelsey Holmes and husband Robert, Nicole, Brittney, Hunter and Shabri Thomas; a great-great-grandchild, Carter Washington; a one cousin, Keylon Jackson. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 16, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, online guestbook at www.heritageofnwa.com.
