Joan Edmiston Hess

Joan Edmiston Hess, (68), author of more than 40 popular fiction books, died at home in Austin, Texas, Nov. 23, 2017. She wrote what she loved to read, mysteries. Her first book, Strangled Prose, was published in 1986. Her most recent book was the New York Times best-seller, The Painted Queen. Joan was born in Fayetteville, a graduate of FHS and the U of A, a business woman, New School teacher, and volunteer in the schools and at Ozark Literacy Council. Please join her children, Rebecca Hess King and Joshua Hess and their families for a celebration of her life at the home of friends Jeff and Sara Koenig. The celebration is planned for Sunday, March 11, from 2:00 until 4:00 at 2853 North Rivercrest Road, in Fayetteville. All who knew Joan and her family are welcome.
