Robert Dean Hemmer

Robert (Bob) D. Hemmer, age 86, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Grand Brook Memory Care in Rogers. He was born on August 22, 1931, in Belleville, Illinois the son of George L. Hemmer and Irene J. (Pontious) Hemmer. He grew up in the St. Louis, Missouri area and graduated from Ritenour High School in 1949. Robert proudly served his country from 1952-1956 in the United States Air Force. n November 8, 1957 he married the love of his life Earlene Hargrave. The next 60 years they were inseparable whether gardening, fishing for trout or crappie, crafting, playing games with family and friends or working at Lake of the Ozarks Assembly of God Youth Camp. Robert was a faithful member for many years of Berea Temple and Trinity Tabernacle (BridgeWay Church) Assembly of God churches in St. Louis and Bridgeton, Mo. He served as an usher and was a proud member of the choir. Robert retired in 1988 from McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) after 35 years as a planner in aircraft electronics. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Norman L. and Richard E. Hemmer. Robert is survived by his wife, Earlene; sister, Dahris Huskey of Olathe, Kan.; sister-in-law, Imogene Nelson of Lincoln, Mo.; sister-in-law, Linore Hargrave of Nixa, Mo.; brother-in-law, Russ Hargrave and wife Debbie of Rogers and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, 1401 W Hudson Rd, Rogers, Ark. Graveside service and burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3556 S Westwood Blvd, Poplar Bluff, Mo. Robert's family would like to give a special thanks to all the Nurses, CNA's and Staff of Grand Brook Memory Care, Ashley Health and Rehab and Hospice of North Arkansas for their love and excellent care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or charity of donor's choice.
