James A. Russell, 81, passed away on June 4, 2018 in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin on June 5, 1936 to the late Allie T. and Marieta (Kieffer) Russell. He was the husband of the late Shirley Ann (Ekker) Russell. He was employed at Oscar Mayer. While at Oscar's, he created a device that allowed production to increase significantly and had a patent registered for it. Even with an 8th grade education, he was able to work his way up the corporate ladder at Oscar's and retired after 25 years. During this time he held a second job with Humphry Tree Trimming. He was a hard worker, who inspired a lot of people. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (2004), son, Mike (2008) and brother, Tom (1994). He is survived by his children, Debra (Owen) Bowman, Tom, David (Lucy) Jim, Linda, B.J. (Dutch) VanderHaeghen, Janie (Jon) Pflaum; sister, Elizabeth Jensen; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12th with service starting at 7 p.m. at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, 2833 Raritan Road, Fitchburg, Wis. 53711.
