Jeffrey "Jeff" L. Hilbun

Jeffrey "Jeff" L. Hilbun, 64, of Bella Vista, Ark, formerly of Monroe, La., died Saturday, June 30, 2018 from injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was born April 3, 1954 in Natchez, Miss. to Mayo and Madge (Mustard) Hilbun, both of whom preceded him in death. Jeff obtained his Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences and Master of Arts in Counseling from LA Tech in Ruston, LA. At 23, he was president of the Thibodaux, LA branch of the Federal Land Bank. Later he worked as a series 7 licensed stockbroker for Edward Jones. In 2004 he and his wife, Vickie, relocated to Northwest AR. There he worked for Decision Point as a counselor for drug court and later for AR DHS in child protective services and foster care. After retiring he worked at Scottsdale and Kingswood golf courses in Bella Vista. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing lively rounds of golf with his church league and with his dear friends: Jim, Tom and Wayne. Jeff is survived by his wife of 24 years, Vickie Doucet Hilbun of Bella Vista; daughter, Melissa (Jeremy) Antley; sons, J. Miles Hilbun, MD (Frances); Spencer Hilbun, all of Monroe LA.; stepsons; Justin Bounds of Farmerville, LA and Derek (Ashley) Bounds of West Monroe, LA.; 13 grandchildren; brother, David (Judy) Hilbun of Kernersville, N.C. and sister, Ellen (Claude) Steele of Pelham, Ala., and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 4 p.m. at the Bella Vista Assembly of God, 1771 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista Ark. Memorial donations may be made to the BVAG benevolence fund.
