George E. Anderson

George E. Anderson, 73, of Hindsville, Ark. passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 in Springdale, Ark. He was born July 20, 1944 in Fayetteville, Ark. to Howard Anderson and Eileen (Moneyhun) Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a farmer all of his life. In early years, he was a grape grower and owned the first mechanical grape picker in northwest Arkansas. He also became a bulldozer owner/operator and did commercial work. Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Springdale High School, attended the University of Arkansas and was a 6 year member of the Army Reserves. He was a 20 year board member of the National Grape Co-operative Association. He was a Methodist. He is survived by his wife, Saralee Anderson, one son, George Anderson Jr. and his wife Darla of Springdale, Ark., one daughter, Dawn Ashby and husband Johnnie of Rogers, Ark., two grandchildren, Meghan Paxton and husband Zachary, and Benjamin Anderson both of Lowell, Ark., one sister, Rita Vess and husband Stuart of Scott, Ark., and one aunt, Juanita Blood of Colcord, Okla. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 20th with a celebration of his life beginning at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Reverend Brad Moore officiating. Private burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Springdale.
