Gregory Louis Baker, 61, of Rogers, Ark., went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born September 23, 1956 in Rogers, Ark. to Paul Henry Baker and Evelyn (Callison) Baker. He was one of six children. Greg attended Rogers High School where he was a running back for the Rogers Mounties and a track all-star, setting a number of state records. He served in the United States Air Force for 13 years as a Supply Sergeant. He was stationed in Japan, Arizona, North Carolina and South Dakota. He served in the Persian Gulf War and lived in Arizona for 15 years before returning to the Rogers area in 2001. During his career he worked for Altana Pharmaceutical, Walmart and Pinnacle Country Club. He was a hard worker and liked to stay busy, consistently working two or three jobs. Greg was compassionate and generous. He was fun loving and liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed watching football, canoeing, fishing and spending time with his dogs. He was deeply passionate about his family, though for much of his life he was troubled soul. He was very proud of his daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Stuart Lee Baker. Survivors include his wife, Lorna Ramos Baker of the home; four daughters, Deanna Baker, Andrea Baker, Carley Baker and Vanessa Baker; one grandson, Cash Dean Baker; one brother, Anthony Baker and wife Wanda of Rogers; three sisters, Lynetta Williams of Conway, Arkansas, Orrenda Whitley of Rogers and Melisa Farkas of Rogers; and nine nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Rogers First Church of the Nazarene, 4911 W. Pleasant Grove Rd., Rogers, Ark. 72758.
