Raymond Joseph Netto

Raymond Joseph Netto of Springdale, died June 30, 2017. He was born April 4, 1924 in Santa Cruz, California to Joseph and Mary Netto. Raymond attended school at Holy Cross in Santa Cruz. After graduation he volunteered immediately for the United States Navy and was accepted in the service of our country. He retired after 20 years, married and moved to Springdale, Arkansas. There, he was employed by Welch's Grape Juice Company for a number of years. He then worked for Campbell Soup Company and retired after 20 years at the age of 62. He was was a member of the Pleasant Street Church of Christ in Springdale and also attended Hyland Park Assembly of God with his wife Katherine Netto, every other sunday. He was a former volunteer for the V.A. Hospital in Fayetteville for 21 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge #877 in Springdale and a former member of Elks Lodge #2144 in Rogers, Arkansas. He was also a member of the Old Time Fiddlers Association and the Springdale Senior Center where he sang with the Silver Tones. He was preceded in death by his parents by his first wife, Myrtle Netto, four brothers, Manuel, Gilbert, George and Joe all of Santa Cruz, California, three sisters, Alice of Kentucky; Helen and Adeline both of California; and stepson, Morton (Skip) Wayne Carnes of Springdale. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Mary Netto, two stepsons, Bobby D. Carnes (Mary Alice) of Rogers and Timothy C. Carnes (Charlotte) of Greenland; two brothers, Johnny Netto (Laura) of Salinas, California and Arthur Netto of Simpsonville, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Justin Bo Wayne Carnes (Leslie) and Laura Jade Farris (Joe) of Lowell; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. At his request, Raymond's body was donated to the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences, Department of Anatomy in Little Rock, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any memorials be made to the church of your choice, the Springdale Senior Center, or the charity of your choice. A memorial with Military honors will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Fayetteville National Veterans Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
