James Leroy Strange Sr.

James Leroy Strange Sr., age 91, of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at Willard Walker Hospice Home. He was born on March 30, 1927, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Willie James and Gladys Elsie (Neal) Strange. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy (Thomas) Strange; his sister, Carolyn Sue Kellar; and his brother, Otis Carldean Strange. James served in the U.S. Army in WWII, the Korean War, and in the military police. He attained his bachelor's in marketing from the University of Arkansas. Following his education, he spent forty-four years in management for Campbell's Soup. James was a member of the Lion's Club and a proud Mason. He is survived by his son, James R. Strange Jr. and wife Deborah of Fayetteville; his grandson, Jason Strange; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, with a funeral service held at 11 a.m. at Genesis Church at 205 M.L.K. Jr Blvd., Fayetteville, Ark. 72701. Interment will follow immediately at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
