Mabel Williams Thomsen, 101, of Fayetteville died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the VA Nursing Home located in Fayetteville. She was born May 1, 1917 in Des Arc, Arkansas the daughter of Carrie Simpson and Wylie Thomas Williams. She served in three wars including World War II, Korean War, and the Vietnam War with the US Navy for 20 years as a Chief Hospital Corpsman, her rank was HMC. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and dancing. She had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area since 2007 after moving from Little Rock. She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Ed Thomsen, two brothers; James Williams and Charles Williams, and two sisters; Elsie Gray and Charlene Steinbeck. Mabel is survived by: one sister; Joan Overton, of Rogers, many nieces and nephews including; Suzy Fehlig, of Cave Springs, Debbie Roe, of Moutain Home, Kathy Williams, of Mississippi, Jan Frykman, of Georgia, Terri Adams, of Arizona, Donna Henson, of Helena, Richard Gray, of Hot Springs, Bill Gray, of Farmington, Jim Gray, of Greenwood, Greg Steinbeck, of Little Rock, Dennis Williams, of Helena, and Gary Williams, of Little Rock. Visitation will be Friday from 9-10 a.m. at Epting Funeral Home located in Bentonville. A celebration of Mabel's life will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent Cemetery located in Rogers.
