William "Bill" Root

William "Bill" Root was born in Broken Bow, Neb., on 4/14/1940 and went to Heaven 4/11/2018. He worked as a machinist at Rockwell in Kearney, Neb., before moving to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1983. He worked for Gates Rubber in Siloam Springs until 1993, when he was injured and retired. He loved fishing, taking cruises, playing games with friends and was a Member of the Fly Tires Club. He is survived by his wife, Katherine "Kate" Root of 45 years; four sons, William Jr., Michael, Martin, Brent and wife, Tammy; one daughter Anita Moss and husband, John; three brothers, Ed Root and wife, Donna, Jim Root and David Root; brother-in-law, Richard Hill and wife, Renne; sisters-in-law Alice Rogers, Carol Petree, Teresa Miller and husband Marvin, Linda Ross; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Goldie Root of Broken Bow, Neb.; son, Bradley Lloyd Root; brother, Gerald Root; and sister, Darlene. Memorial services will be held Saturday, 4/14/18 at Bella Vista Funeral Home at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice.
