Alva Lee "Sonny" Baker

Alva Lee "Sonny" Baker, 71, of Springdale, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home after a battle with liver cancer. He was born September 5, 1946 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Alva Eddison and Johnie Ethel (Jordan) Baker. Alva served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and retired from Rockline Industries in 2011. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Lynn (Rogers) Baker of the home; one son, Richard Baker; three daughters, Kimberly Baker, Michelle Higgins and husband Eddie, Audra Roebuck; two grandchildren, Nathan and Mikayla Higgins; three great-grandchildren, Brantley, Waverly and Ellie Higgins; three sisters, Virginia Bowen, Susie Parris, Linda Johnson; several nieces, nephews and extended family including Glynn and Betty Sanders, and Yancey, Glenda, Jacob and Kaitlyn Hutchinson. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 3, at the Springdale Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Interment will be at Drakes Creek Cemetery.
