Lucille Hiatt Phillips, 96, of Little Rock passed away on May 29, 2017. She was born on January 18, 1921 in Vesta, Arkansas to H. Clyde and Farry Bonner Hiatt and raised in Charleston. While attending the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, she met and later married Harry H. Phillips of Old Alabam, Arkansas. During their 59 years of marriage, Lucille was a devoted wife and mother, but also made time for her love of gardening. She was active in various garden clubs and other civic organizations in the many cities in which she lived before returning to Arkansas to live in Little Rock. There she followed and developed her interests in interior design and began a retail career in home decorating and furnishings. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her step-mother, Eula Y. Hiatt; and three brothers, Clifton B. Hiatt, Paul Hiatt, and Bill C. Hiatt. She is survived by her sons, H. Hugh Phillips of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Clyde H. Phillips of Little Rock, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Anastasi Phillips of New York, New York; three brothers, Joe S. Hiatt and Don Y. Hiatt of Charleston, Arkansas and Clyde L. Hiatt of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and by her nieces; nephews and their children.
