Jim J. Taylor, age 70, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away on May 25, 2017 in Rogers. He was born April 7, 1947 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Sam and Ruby Taylor. He has been a resident of Rogers for more than 41 years. He graduated from Springdale High School in 1965, and worked as a machinist for the RTW Company, in Rogers, Arkansas before retiring with 40+ years of service. He loved being outdoors and was an avid fisherman, hunter and trapper. Later in life he took up golf and played weekly for many years. He also enjoyed making the rounds at the local casino, having a good steak and playing the horses and the slots. He was a do-it-yourself kind of guy and was always making repairs and improvements to his home, vehicles and sporting equipment. He was very personable and also had a keen sense of humor. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Sam M. Taylor, mother, Ruby M. Spears Taylor; and his wife, Judy Carol Sargent Taylor. He is survived by his son, James M. Taylor of Rogers; step-daughters, Mary Ann Adams and husband Chris of Springdale, Arkansas; Bobye Holt and her husband, Jim Holt, of Tontitown, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Brenda Powers and her husband Jerry of Bella Vista; one brother, Jerry Taylor and wife Twila of Springdale; niece, Cassie Taylor of Springdale, and a large group of extended family and lifelong friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Springdale, Arkansas from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on 3 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the funeral home.
