Pauline Eans, age 89, of Fayetteville, passed away at home on Sunday, May 7, 2017. She was born on July 10, 1927, in Combs, Arkansas, to William and Nora Shipp Thornsberry. She is preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Clarence Eans; three brothers, Irvin, Clarence, and John Thornsberry; and four sisters, Ida, Myrtle, Celia, and Alice. She and Clarence knew how to nurture plants and trees and they shared produce with friends and family. Pauline was the organizer of the family picnics. She knew all about the stars of the silver screen and country musicians. Her favorite activities included fishing, travel, and playing with the neighborhood children in her younger years. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Shirley Durning and husband Jerry of Fayetteville; one sister, Wilma Carney of Fayetteville; six nieces, Jean Boyer and husband Dennis, Betty Houy and husband Ted, Cathy Scates and husband Brian, Charlotte Wray and husband Fred, Judy Bates, and Shirley Brashears; and five nephews, Clifford Thornsberry, Steve Carney, Dr. Tom Eans and wife Judy, Ronald Eans and wife Nina, and Shelly Blackwood and wife Janet. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Moore's Chapel Funeral Home in Fayetteville. A private burial will be held at another date.
