Wanda Kirby Pierce

Wanda Kirby Pierce, 89, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Wichita, Kan. She was born January 12, 1928 in Rogers to Marvin Floyd Kirby and Mary Lula Goodloe Kirby. Wanda married Philip Pierce on June 1, 1947 in Rogers and were happily married for 62 years. After Philip retired they spent several years traveling the lower 48 states. In 2013, she moved to Kansas to be closer the children. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed coloring. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church in Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Philip P. Pierce (2009); daughter, Debra Kay Pierce; granddaughter, Heather Pierce and one brother, Marvin Kirby and sister, Marilyn French. Wanda is survived by three sons, Dan Pierce and wife, Betty of Villa Rica, Ga., Doug Pierce and wife, Terri of Benton, Kansas, Reverend David Pierce and wife, Pamela of Pflugerville, Texas; brother-in-law, Robert French of Rogers, Ark.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Rogers with the Rev. Dr. Ronnie Prevost officiating. Interment will be in the church columbarium. Memorials may be made in memory of Wanda Pierce to the First Presbyterian Church of Rogers, 1901 South 26th Street, Rogers, Ark. 72758.
