Gladys Erie "Granny" Smith, age 94, of West Fork, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017, in Springdale. She was born July 27, 1922, in Lamar, Arkansas, the daughter of Eli and Ada Cowell Colvin. She was preceded in death by her husband, McKinley Smith; two brothers, Hayes Colvin and Ward Colvin; and a granddaughter, Mirinda Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. She loved quilting, making hand crafts, dolls and sewing clothes. She was known as Granny to everyone who loved her. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Jones and husband Gary of West Fork and Jane Garriott and husband Jimmy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two sons, Kenneth Smith and wife Lynn of West Fork and Calvin Smith and wife Mary of West Fork; a special nephew, Fred Colvin of Winslow; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Moore's Chapel followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to West Fork Cemetery or to a charity of choice. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Walnut Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation.
