Mertie Mae Roberts-Jones

Mertie Mae Roberts-Jones, age 88, of Elm Springs, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Earlene Howard Circle of Life Hospice House. She was born April 4, 1928, in the Harmon Community, the daughter of Clifford and Mary Burks Eldridge. She had worked at Plus Poultry and had also worked as a cook at various Springdale Schools. Mertie enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and loved her family. She attended Faith Regular Baptist Church in Elm Springs. Mertie is preceded by her first husband, the father of her children, Kenneth Roberts in 2012; one son, Eugene Roberts in 1997; her parents; one sisters, Winnie Thomas and one grandson, Chad Roberts. She is survived by her husband, Tommy Jones, of the home; three sons: Lonnie Roberts of Greenwood, Arkansas, Jimmie Roberts and his wife, Irene, of Gentry, Arkansas, Doug Roberts and his wife, Penny, of Springdale, Arkansas; two daughters: Connie Bariola and her husband, Buddy, of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Brenda Hook of Elm Springs, Arkansas; three brothers, Johnny Eldridge of Springdale, Arkansas, Arlis Eldridge of Colcord, Oklahoma and Ernest Eldridge of Springdale, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Faith Regular Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Jewell officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Brett Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Garrett Roberts, Jason Bariola, Ryan Hook, Brock Bariola and Chuck Folger.
