MATTHEW DALE NORMAN, 54, of Little Rock, passed away Jan. 12, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Phoebe Dale Darby Norman, brother, Daniel Norman and his aunts, Sue Gaston, Lucette White and Patricia Holsapple. He is survived by his sister, Ellen Bullard (Steven) of Springfield, Mo.; brothers, David Norman (Catherine) of Cabot and Rob LaFollette of Oregon; aunt, Anne Kocinski; and nieces and nephews, Stephanie Bullard, Katie (Rich) Mulrenin, Melissa (Josh) Bade, Blake (Camille) Norman, Abigail Norman, Meghan Bullard, Colton LaFollette, Phoebe and Jackson Bloomfield; and great-nieces and nephews, Steven, Adelyn, Leah and Maley Mulrenin and Hadley, Kipton and Everett Bade. Also surviving is his special cousin, Mark (Kathy) Holsapple and dear friends, Bob (Dianna) Schwarz and their family. Matthew Dale graduated from Vanguard School in Florida and maintained connections with many of his classmates. His lifelong circle of friends were the North Hill Jaycees, where he served as Chapter President and attended many National Conventions. The legend of ‘Stormin Norman' was known all across the country. His volunteer spirit extended to various projects like Toys for Tots and the Red Cross. He also worked as a courier driver and usually made a friend at each delivery drop. Matthew Dale operated his own business, Big D Delivery before retiring due to health. Matthew Dale's heart was so big and he brought laughter and life to everyone he touched. He has been described as kind, gentle, sincere, humble, fun-loving and a true prankster. He would do anything for anyone. A devoted Razorback Fan, he lived for the next game. Then he was off to the races at Oaklawn. After the "Trail's End", his passions lead him to Lake Hamilton where he enjoyed boating and fishing. Although he had many interests, the main love in his life was his family. His passing will leave a Matthew Dale size hole in so many hearts. He faced special challenges in this life, but faced them with the biggest smile anyone can remember. Ellen and his family would like to express their gratitude to Doug Ballinger and his caregivers for the compassion, encouragement and extraordinary care during Matthew Dale's final weeks. Due to his avid support for his beloved Razorbacks, the family request memorials be made to: Razorback Foundation, 1295 S. Razorback Road, Suite A, Fayetteville, Ark. 72701. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
