Charles Theophilus Edmondson M.D.

Charles Theophilus Edmondson M.D., 93, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home. He was born Aug. 12, 1923 in Locust Grove, Ark., to Leo and Opal Brooks Edmondson. Charles served in the Army during WWII. He was graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine in 1951 and became a member of the American College of Radiology in 1969. He was a diplomat and member, and member emeritus of the Washington Medical Society. Together with his late brother, Dr. Rogers Edmondson, they operated the Edmondson Clinic in Springdale for many years. Charles served as a deacon at the Presbyterian churches in both Malden, Mo., and Temple, Texas, and as elder in the Presbyterian churches in Malden, Heber Springs and Springdale. He is survived by his wife, Faye Edmondson. They were married July 5, 1948 in the Scotland Presbyterian Church in Junction City; three children, Charles Douglas Edmondson of Temple, Texas, Carolyn Sue Lemoine of Alexandria, La., and William. Paul Edmondson of New Braunfels, Texas; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Rogers Edmondson and Gleason Edmondson, and two sisters, Ionese Franks and Pat Sullivan. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the First Presbyterian Church in Springdale. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to either the First Presbyterian Church, 100 S Gutensohn Road., Springdale, Ark. 72762, or to Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Family Services, 1501 N.
